Five decades and Six years ago; the illustrious Royal family of the Late His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa Oba Musendiq Adeniji Adele II (Oba of Lagos) welcomed a grandson, Prince Mosediq Adeniji Kazeem into their royal fold.

Prince Adeniji Kazeem SAN named after the reverred monarch was born today 19th April 1965 to late Honourable Justice Boonyamin Oladiran Kazeem, a former Solicitor General of Nigeria and Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria ( a Scion of d illustrious Kazeem Aralawon Family of Isale-Eko fame) and Princess Jemilat Adetoun Kazeem (a biological daughter of the Oba of Lagos).

Adeniji Kazeem SAN FCArb attended St Saviours Primary School, Railway compound, Ebute Metta, Lagos for his primary education. He excelled meritoriously in 1976 and proceeded to Federal Government College in the oil rich town of Warri where he obtained his O’levels, thereafter he berth at Federal Government College, Ijanikin, Lagos for his A’ Level.

In 1983 he was admitted to the prestigious University of Lagos and graduated with Honours in 1986 with a 2nd class upper degree in Political Science.

He served the mandatory National Youth Service programme as a Research Assistant with the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, (NIIA).

In classic case of a fruit that did not fall too far from the tree, in 1987 he returned to the University of Lagos to bag a degree in law, he graduated with honours in 1990.

The following year in 1991 he was called to the Nigerian Bar and enrolled as Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. Adeniji Kazeem SAN earned his Master of Law degree in Information and Telecommunication Law from University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. He is a Notary Public of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Adeniji Kazeem started his professional career as a Consultant with the foremost globally rated international consulting and accounting firm, Arthur Anderson (now KPMG Professional Services). He was a staff of the tax and regulatory services division of the firm.

After five years with the firm he voluntarily resigned and established the law firm of Adeniji Kazeem & Co immediately. The firm is multi-disciplinary and currently have three(3) offices in Lagos and Abuja.

An accomplish author Adeniji Kazeem publications has enriched Information and Telecommunication Law adjudication and jurisprudence in Nigeria and the West African coast. Among his works are the Nigerian Hire Purchase Act and the Future of Customary Law in Nigeria.

In October 2015 after his clearance by the Lagos State House of Assembly he was sworn in by His Excellency Governor Akinwunmi Ambode FCA as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Lagos State and remained in that office till the 28th of May 2019.

His specialisation in Information and Telecommunication Law reflected roboustly on his astute practical reforms and initiatives as a cabinet member in Lagos State.

Adeniji Kazeem accomplishments remains indelible, the establishment of Lagos mobile courts, the digitalisation of Lagos State laws, with over 100,000 users monthly, the passage of fourteen bills into laws, the constitution of the anti land grabbing unit, the establishment of a world class DNA forensic centre

Electronic real estate litigation database with over 1,000,000 hits and over 10,000 consistent users from Nigeria, United States of America, United Kingdom, South Africa and others, the Plea Bargain Protocol as well as the establishment of Lagos Criminal Information and Tracking System to mention a few are all to his credit.

On 24th September 2018 he was sworn in as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria after confirmation by the Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee. In November 15, 2019 he was conferred with the Award of Fellowship of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators (FCArb).

A devout Muslim Adeniji Kazeem SAN is the National Legal Adviser of the Ansar-ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Secretary of society’s Education Trust and Board Member Ansar-ud-Deen College, Isolo, Lagos. He is a receipient of several awards of excellence from various chapters of the Nigerian Bar Association and other organizations.
